On the eve of the decisive meeting of the federal government’s climate cabinet and the global “Fridays for Future” climate demonstration, climate economist Ottmar Edenhofer (Professor at Technische Universität Berlin, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change), who himself addressed the climate cabinet in his capacity as scientific advisor, will present the negotiated options for the pricing of CO2, explaining their implications for society, the economy, and politics.

There will follow a debate on a climate protection policy feasible for society as a whole between Professor Edenhofer and

Luisa Neubauer (Climate Activist, Fridays for Future)
Silke Kersting (Correspondent, Handelsblatt Berlin bureau)
Jakob von Weizsäcker (Head of the Policy Department and Chief Economist at the Federal Ministry of Finance) and
Carl Martin Welcker (President, Mechanical Engineering Industry Association).
The event will be moderated by journalist and moderator Conny Czymoch.

The event will be held in German.
